We are proud to announce a new addition to our family.......(drumroll please!).....Roxanne, aka, Roxy the mama dog. I call her the mama dog because her belly is so stretched from having puppies. She was used for breeding and had at least 6 litters in her short 7 years. And you know she was a good mama because she has a lot of damage from letting her pups nurse too much and too long. She is so sweet, an oldie but a goodie, and she fits in great with us. Ever since we had Chief, we developed a new appreciation for older dogs because they usually get euthanized when they are 6yrs and older, if they are strays. Older dogs are the hardest dogs to adopt out, especially old, black, large dogs--I thought that was weird, but it's true. The sad thing is that older dogs usually just want a cool place to sleep and to have water and food, their soooo easy to please! So, we knew we wanted an older dog that needed a good home and we finally found her. I knew as soon as I laid eyes on her that she was perfect and I had to have her. I'm not trying to "replace" Chief because that is just not possible, but I will say that she is just as gentle, loving, and sweet as Chief was. She also has those eyes, I've only seen the look in rescue dogs, but it is hard to explain--it's kind of like your their angel and their always pleading with their eyes for you to love them and take care of them and most of all KEEP them. So far Roxy's favorite things are #1 Air Conditioning, #2 Treats, #3 Sleep, #4 is a tie--fresh, cold water and dinner time.

You're a saint Katy, the way you talk about dogs. It makes me feel guilty for not really liking dogs.
