I just read Jana's latest blog post......and, it was really funny. But this depressed me because I thought "why blog, cause I'll never be able to narrate like Jana!" But seriously Jana, your blog is really funny, would you mind taking it down a notch? For the rest of us? Or, you could host a blog writing party and show me how to achieve your skills. Whaddaya say?

Rock Out Roxy!
We are proud to announce a new addition to our family.......(drumroll please!).....Roxanne, aka, Roxy the mama dog. I call her the mama dog because her belly is so stretched from having puppies. She was used for breeding and had at least 6 litters in her short 7 years. And you know she was a good mama because she has a lot of damage from letting her pups nurse too much and too long. She is so sweet, an oldie but a goodie, and she fits in great with us. Ever since we had Chief, we developed a new appreciation for older dogs because they usually get euthanized when they are 6yrs and older, if they are strays. Older dogs are the hardest dogs to adopt out, especially old, black, large dogs--I thought that was weird, but it's true. The sad thing is that older dogs usually just want a cool place to sleep and to have water and food, their soooo easy to please! So, we knew we wanted an older dog that needed a good home and we finally found her. I knew as soon as I laid eyes on her that she was perfect and I had to have her. I'm not trying to "replace" Chief because that is just not possible, but I will say that she is just as gentle, loving, and sweet as Chief was. She also has those eyes, I've only seen the look in rescue dogs, but it is hard to explain--it's kind of like your their angel and their always pleading with their eyes for you to love them and take care of them and most of all KEEP them. So far Roxy's favorite things are #1 Air Conditioning, #2 Treats, #3 Sleep, #4 is a tie--fresh, cold water and dinner time.

Jackson Moments
Amber's little girl is 3 and she's the epitome of "GIRL", dramatic, chatty, needy, charming, and so cute. But, she also knows exactly how to get Jackson's attention.
Anyways, Jackson is NOT a morning toddler (if there is such a thing) and he's pretty mellow in the mornings and wants to drink his juice and watch cartoons. So, Haily decides she needs to sit RIGHT next to him, poke him once or twice, then sit on him when her other clever, yet irritating actions were being ignored. Finally, Jackson scrunches up his face and says (dramatically) "I need my space!" (Who says that at 2 yrs?). Amber had been telling Hailey to give Jackson his space and Jackson completely agreed with her. Of course, once Jackson fully wakes up he is chasing Hailey, poking at her, and of course all of the sudden he just NEEDS to play with her Dora figurines because he knows it bugs her--so it goes both ways, but is still pretty hilarious to watch.
Another funny thing is that Jackson has either just found/realized his gag reflex, or it just became ultra sensitive, I don't know. All I know is that lately, when we get up in the am, if I get anywhere near him, or try to kiss him before I brush my teeth he literally starts gagging and says, "Mama stinky! Go brush teeth!" And he really won't get near me until I do! I started to feel bad, but then I felt better when he did it to Chris, and Linda when she stayed over night. He REALLY dry heaves too, I don't think it's fake. In addition, we got another dog recently (I'll talk about that more fully later) and, long story short, she is a rescue dog that was living in bad conditions and needs some serious TLC, including a bath.....every day for 6 months probably. BUT, she is so sweet, and the smell is a lot better since I have bathed her ( I promise I did before she got near the house!). So, in keeping with the same topic (dry heaving), Jackson won't go near her and if he accidentally gets too close he starts dry heaving until his eyes water and he screams "MAMA!! STINKY (gag) STINKY! (gag) EWWW!" (BTW, I promise she doesn't smell THAT bad, if your wondering). The dog also sleeps literally all day except for about 20 min, so Jackson just doesn't know what to think. I'm pretty sure he thinks she's an old smelly rug, (not a dog), because ever since we got her (a week) he points to her about 10 times a day and says "What that?", I say, "It's our dog, Roxy", he looks confused and says "Ohhh.....Roxy a dog?", and I say, "Yep, Roxy's a dog", and about a half hour later we have the exact same conversation, and so on for a week now if you get my point.
So, the question up for discussion is....can a person fake gag reflexes and watering eyes? Could this be drama or is it real?

I'm officially 30!
This is what my friends did to my desk at work. Aren't they sweet???? (MmmHmmm).
I'm officially 30 now and life is good! I was thinking about it and I thought, am I supposed to cry, be depressed, or what??? Cause I'm not really. Then I remembered what a friend had told me when I was 25, "Just wait until your thirties--it's the beginning of the best years of your life!", I thought, ya right--how could that be? But now I know what she meant. I have some of the best friends I could ever hope for, some I've known over half my life now. I have an incredible husband who supports me, loves me for who I am, always tries to make me feel special and loved, and not to mention is a beyond wonderful dad. Ahhhh, then there is Jackson. I wonder every day what I did to deserve this kid. He is so cute, smart, cuddly, and if I knew I'd have more exactly like him I would have 10!! (And that says a lot). But seriously, if there is a perfect in this world, it's him. I'm done with school, enjoying life, I have a great job and work with a few great people (heehee). Not to mention that Linda is out of the hospital and staying with us (health is doing really good BTW)--which has made Jackson's year to have his Mimi here. And last night, we were all dancing in the living room to my new iHome Chris got me and I looked around and thought--yep, thirty IS good!
